No, Tom, you aren't but now that you mention it :)

It's funny but I actually know a dozen or so people who take up the cause for right on a regular basis and you are one of them.

I'm hopeful that the post helps, but you know there are some battles that just can't be won, and there are some battles that always need to be fought. Just trying to cause people to be open to something other than "frontal attack". Sometimes it's a matter of rolling over them at the supply line. Thanks for commenting.

I wouldn't be the Don Quixote you're referring to, would I? :) You're point is well taken, although the people I pity most are those who have never taken a stand or wilt at the first sign of crossed bugles. Someone has to speak truth to power, but you're right, the goal should be to influence or persuade, not to be the last man standing, unless every other option has been exhausted and it's a war worth fighting. I think you'd enjoy The New Strategic Selling by Heiman and Sanchez. It's not The Art of War, but it teaches you how to manage people you're trying to influence by building win-win solutions. There's no value in provoking someone to become even more entrenched in their position. Another thought provoking post! Thanks, Chief.
